    "Principles of Mortgage Banking II"

    Program:

    A six-week advanced course, held one morning a week, featuring discussions and lectures by experienced professionals in the residential mortgage banking field.

    Purpose:

    This course is designed to help the industry professional increase their knowledge at a comprehensive level in targeted areas of the home loan process in an effort to provide a broader industry understanding that support personalized services to clients and company goals.

    Who Should Attend:

    Recommended for employees with at least 2 years of industry experience and for those looking to strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the more complicated concepts impacting the industry.

    Recommended for underwriters, advanced processors, loan officers and process managers.

    Cost:

    $399 full course as a MBBA-NH, MAMP, and VMBA member

    $599 full course as a non-member

    $ 75 individual module as a MBBA-NH, MAMP, and VMBA member

    $ 95 individual module as a non-member

This discussion provides a deep dive into the mechanics of residential construction lending. Our panelists will discuss and answer questions on topics of documentation required, such as detailed project budgets, timelines, underwriting considerations and appraisals based on the home's future value.     Today’s buyers can research, find options, rates and even purchase every product online which is changing the role of mortgage lenders today. Relationship building, consultative bankers differentiate themselves by helping their potential buyers self-discover why they need their product. They do that by managing the conversation skillfully and tailoring their questions for resonance so that they are speaking the prospect’s love language. They bring indispensable value through the questions they ask and the way in which they ask those questions.

    Jack will help MLOs create greater demand for their products and services by helping them engage and gain insights from their prospects. Jack will teach and demonstrate:

    • How to have a relationship building conversation about things that matter utilizing a pre-call plan, with specific questions to ask to tailor for resonance

    • The specific skills needed to be a relationship building, consultative banker

    • A skillful ‘drill down’ questioning approach that will help MLOs to fully qualify

      prospects

      Freddie Mac

      Hannah has ten years of experience in the mortgage industry, with a background in mortgage origination, training, and management. She is currently a member of the Client Education Services team at Freddie Mac, where she creates and facilitates client-facing trainings. In addition to leading webinars, Hannah develops a variety of learning resources—including tutorials and job aids—to support client understanding of Freddie Mac policies and products.

      Lauren Strauss, Marketing Program Management Professional;

      Freddie Mac

      With a strong background in training prior to joining Freddie Mac, Lauren developed and delivered educational programs in the primary market. She is now part of Freddie Mac’s Client Education Services team, where she supports the creation and delivery of origination and underwriting training materials.
