VSECU is a not-for-profit cooperative offering a full range of financial products and services to over 47,000 members. Our very busy Mortgage Department is seeking a motivated and knowledgeable mortgage lender to serve our Central Vermont Members from our Berlin Branch. Promote VSECU mortgage products and work with members to originate single and multi-family residential mortgage and home equity loans. Candidates must be able to aggressively seek out and develop business relationships with realtors and contractors, meet with members on and off site, take loan applications, pre-qualify applicants and participate in marketing efforts. The position will be based in Central Vermont with shared responsibility for other Vermont areas. Experience in a financial institution with three or more years as a mortgage originator preferred. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred and a thorough knowledge of secondary market loan requirements and computer skills, including loan software. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact in a professional manner with peers and a wide range of applicants. Compensation includes base salary plus commission.
